Problem printing in Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

Why can’t I print after I upgrade to MAC OS 10.10 “Yosemite”

Do the following steps to address the issue:

  • Go to Spotlight, then enter Terminal and press Enter.
    The terminal window/program opens.
  • Enter sudo sh -c ‘echo “Sandboxing Relaxed” >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf’ in the terminal.
  • Enter your system OS login password when prompted. Note: The password you enter will not appear, which is normal. Be sure to enter the correct password.
  • Enter sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
    Your screen will look similar to the following:

Macintosh:~ lindaterry$ sudo sh -c ‘echo “Sandboxing Relaxed” >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf’
Password:
Sorry, try again.
Password:
Macintosh:~ lindaterry$ sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
Macintosh:~ lindaterry$

  • Try to print again.
